Capoeira Nomada
Capoeira Nomada was founded in 2024 by Instrutora Portuguesa, whose capoeira journey began in Venezuela in 2009. Driven by a passion for the art and its cultural depth, she created the group to share capoeira as a way of life—blending movement, music, philosophy, and history.
Classes are open to all ages and levels, combining physical training with the study of core capoeira elements: kicks, acrobatics, and flowing in the jogo, while developing self-defense skills. Students also experience the cultural side of capoeira, connecting the body with the rhythms of traditional instruments and exploring practices such as maculelê and samba de roda. This approach offers a complete experience of the art, balancing the martial and artistic dimensions while cultivating freedom, resilience, and a sense of belonging.
Inspired by her first teacher, Instrutor Manchado (now Mestre), achieving the level of instrutora in 2024 marked a personal milestone and a continuation of his legacy. With guidance from several mestres and professors, Capoeira Nomada continues to grow and gain international recognition, keeping the martial art at its core while honoring music, rhythm, and cultural traditions rooted in resistance and the pursuit of freedom.
